If Marizas early albums gave ample clues to her potential, her most recent discs have been nothing short of triumphant. TRANSPARENTE, released three years ago, created a memorable fusion of Portuguese and Brazilian styles, supervised by cellist Jacques Morelenbaum. CONCERTO EM LISBOA - again with Morelenbaum at the helm provided a beguiling snapshot of her live show. With TERRA, she digs a little deeper again, in a thoughtfully varied collection that includes guest appearances by Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes, Cape Verdean icon, Tito Paris, and the sensational Spanish vocalist, Buika. The album is produced by Javier Limon, who has won accolades and grammies for his work with Bebo & Cegalla, Buika, Paco de Lucia etc. TERRA has already been nominated for a Latin Grammy this year.
