On Ten Ton Man's debut album, this trio of Paul Livornese on vocals and guitar, Paul Dugan, on upright and electric bass, and one of the founding members of 'Big Lazy', are joined by session drummer Paul Tripp to create a landscape of songs that tell the story of a man who contemplates the life that has been dealt him. Unofficially this saga 'Rocco's Midlife Crisis' flows like a movie from start to finish. Ten Ton Man is joined by Kelly Pratt on brass, who has played with Beirut and Arcade Fire and Erik Della Penna, Guitarist for Natalie Merchant, who adds lap steel and slide, on this indie, rootsy album. Influences by Johnny Cash and Nick Cave can be heard throughout.
