This local Washington, DC band plays music with a strong blues influence but there's reggae and some soul mixed in for good measure. Unique songs and excellent singing round out a band that can cover much musical ground making for an intruguing and diverse listening experience. Willie Strings: Born in Silver Spring, MD, first started performing at the age of 12, now some 12 years, four line-ups, and at least a hundred open mics later Willie Strings is ready and set to go. Whether it's solo acoustic or a full-on electric set you are in for an hell of a ride...better strap in. About the Players: Introduced to Willie by a mutual friend, the three instantly clicked. ~Josh 'Dr. Love' Insel has been playing and recording music live and in his studio for over 10 years. A solid bass player, Doc and Willie played over 50 shows last year and are always looking for more. ~Chris Murray has been a local drummer for years. He sat in with Willie and Doc for an Omega session and decided to stick around. Chris recently won a Drum-off competition and played previously with the bands: Groovalistic All-stars, Odyssey, Jack Diamond and Jim Steed just to name a few.
