Widely regarded as a legendary figure in blues, musician Richard Newell was recruited into Ronnie Hawkins band (which had already spawned Bob Dylan's future backing group the Band) in 1968, and it was the Hawk who rechristened him King Biscuit Boy, after the popular blues program King Biscuit Time on KFFA radio in Arkansas, and because of Richard's uncanny ability to play like Sonny Boy Williamson. Performed with Muddy Waters, Etta James, Duane Allman, Janis Joplin, and Joe Cocker. Keith Richards and Paul McCartney are among the all-star fans of the mighty King Biscuit Boy. The first Canadian Blues artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US!
