Generally more muscular than it's predecessor, the follow-up to Blow by Blow offers some of the best jazz-rock fusion the '70s have to offer! Though Beck contributed no original material to the album (instead relying on the talented lineup of keyboardists Max Middleton and Jan Hammer, drummers Richard Bailey and Narada Michael Walden and bassist Wilbur Bascomb), he's nonetheless in top form on Led Boots; Come Dancing; Head for Backstage Pass; Blue Wind; Sophie; Play with Me; Love Is Green, and a dazzling take on Charles Mingus' Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.
