I wrote most of these songs over a period of a year or two. While the songs evolved from my personal experiences with specific people and events, my hope is that you will be able to relate to the stories. Some were easier to write then others. Even now, some are easier to play than others. 'The Ocean Song' was written after spending a season as first mate on a small commercial boat out of Ocean City, MD, fishing for sea bass and lobster. 'Watchtowers' describes the towers we saw everytime time we drove down to the beach. The towers were built during World War II to gaurd the coast against air and submarine attacks. To us, they just meant the waves and sun and the beach. Our childhood. 'Close Your Eyes' was written for a friend of mine who was taken from this world much too early. And so, those are examples of how I write my songs. I hope you find something in them of which you can relate.
