Choro was the early 20th century street music of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Influenced by equal parts Afro-Brazilian rhythms and the contemporary cafe music of Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, choro is both exotic and familiar, evoking in turn the carnival of Rio and the cafes of Paris. Rio Con Brio features Tim Connell on mandolin and Mike Burdette on guitar. These two stellar musicians blend the most beautiful and enduring compositions of the choro tradition with the musette waltz repertoire of 1920\'s Paris and the driving rhythms of Django Reinhardt\'s \'gypsy jazz\'.
