2008 debut album from the intriguing and mysterious British Electronic act. Somewhat of a metaphor for Britain, Welcome to Goon Island is born from the great British Art School tradition; vivid, interesting, expansive and far-reaching, an aesthetic that seeps into everything they do from their other-worldly videos via intriguing photos to extra curricular activities such as training dogs to dance. Yet such apparent frippery shouldn't disguise their uncanny ability to pen rather fine songs, as Welcome to Goon Island attests. The album was produced by with Ross Orton (Fat Truckers, MIA, Bromheads Jacket, Kid Acne) in Sheffield at the end of 2007. a joyous and innovative record which rumbles, rolls and swings. 11 tracks.
