Jeremy Sklar, lead singer/songwriter for Wasted Holiday is a lives in Los Angeles. He is currently finishing work on a television pilot he wrote and directed called 'Hollywoodn't' in which he provided some of the music along with musician Marc Dyen and award winning composer Melissa Orquiza. Jeremy and Melissa also worked together to create a demo-soundtrack for: 'MOBIUS: a Little Tokyo ghost story' based on an original screenplay by Jeremy Sklar. This is what wasted holiday is...a prog-rock band in the tradition of Pink Floyd that combines their textural songs and lyrics and sonic experimentation - with a more classical, formal structure...mixing it up just enough to confuse and delight it's listeners. Wasted Holiday hopes to create soundtracks for Mr. Sklar's films that will be as wild a ride as the films themselves...stay tuned. Now, more about this album...a film of the mind... WASTED HOLIDAY'S Finger for the Moon Tells the abstract story of a young man experiencing a nervous break down ('shaking') while sitting in the park with his mother on a lovely spring day. He dreams of escaping by train ('locomotive') to a time where life was simpler. But stuck in his life, he writes a love letter to his far away girlfriend about his fears of the future ('bad signs'). He dreams he becomes famous ('the latest rage') yet even in his dream he self destructs under the constant scrutiny of the fickle public who long for the latest trend. His parents take him and his girlfriend skiing to try to help him relax, but out on the slopes, he skies out of bounds.('Health-don't get lost without me'). While out in the wilderness, he can't seem to get a line from a Bruce Lee movie out of his head, until he suddenly realizes it's true meaning ('Finger for the Moon.') He then fights his way down the mountain, if just to see his girlfriend one more time, remembering the times, good and sad, that they've had together ('wasted holiday pts I II & III'). He makes it down, yet he is no longer the same boy. He is here and not here. ('gone') Keep your hands inside the car at all times and I hope you enjoy the ride. Jeremy sklar.
