Hannah Dixon - Voyage

Faith, prayer and music were integral parts of Hannah's childhood in Columbia, South Carolina. While most of her peers saved for the latest fashions, Hannah stashed away baby-sitting money for a trailer. She needed it to haul her sound equipment various places where she would strap on her guitar and sing. Those venues included prisons, army bases, coffeehouses, churches and even NASCAR racing events. Hannah shared the message of hope her music expressed with anyone who'd listen. At an early age, Hannah had a love for Jesus and a passion for music. Childhood illnesses caused Hannah to spend a lot of time in the hospital where she found joy listening to Christian music. As she sang along, her heart was reminded that God is always in control and He has a purpose for her life. It was then Hannah realized she, too, wanted to make music that points people to Christ. Hannah learned to play guitar at age twelve and began writing songs inspired by the Lord. With her family's support, she started "Heart of Hannah" music ministry (based on Hannah in the Bible) and traveled to various venues sharing her heart through song. In 1998, Hannah was joined by her friend and sister in Christ, Elizabeth Foster. They partnered in music ministry as "Hannah & Elizabeth" for nearly five years, traveling throughout the country as well as overseas. Their contemporary folk sound and original songs touched many lives, and continues to do so through their two independently released recordings. Since 2003, Hannah has lived in Greenville, South Carolina, where she was an assistant worship leader at her church and a mentor to teenage girls. In the process, God wonderfully entwined her path with Michael Dixon, who was also on church staff, and they married. Now Hannah and Michael sense God leading them to join together in ministry. Michael offers valuable support behind the scenes as Hannah writes and performs original songs and leads worship. Hannah released her first solo project entitled "The Voyage" in May of 2007. She and her husband have been busy traveling around the United States sharing concerts and leading in worship. Hannah says, "Michael and I feel a lot like Abraham. We know God is calling us to 'go out' but we don't know where. As we step out in faith, not knowing what lies ahead, it is with a sense of excitement to see what God has in store. He has constantly proven Himself to be faithful and good in our lives, and our heart's desire is to be part of His Kingdom work here on earth."
