Velvet Goldmine is set in London in the early '70s during the emergence of the glam rock scene. It follows the rise and fall of mythical rock god Brian Slade - a David Bowie-type character. Music featured is a combination of original songs from the era - covers of songs from the '70s by Placebo, the Wylde Rattz and the Venus in Furs (both bands from the film) - and original songs from Grant Lee Buffalo, Shudder to Think, Pulp and Paul Kimble.
