With their debut CD Brave Lads All in 1999, The Highland Rovers Band launched their unique brand of Irish kick a mix of rock n roll, southern rock, and pop. But long before the first CD, the Rovers began building a fan base in 1993 that today spans generations. Their original work is distinct, with songs like Unusual Days and Goodbye Mary exhibiting the bands musical finesse and vocal talent. But it was their three-part harmony that caught the attention of southern rock legends, The Marshall Tucker Band. The connection opened doors. The Rovers talent got them invited back. Over the years, the band paid it's dues playing Irish pubs throughout Connecticut and along the eastern seaboard. Today, the HRBs resume includes performances across the United States at venues ranging from well-known Irish pubs to larger arenas such as Shea Stadium. The band has performed with top Irish artists including the Saw Doctors, the Young Dubliners, and The Prodigals. HRB has also performed numerous shows with their longtime friends and mentors, the Marshall Tucker Band. The band has produced four albums to date. The current CD, Unusual Days, was released in the summer of 2004. They are currently in the studio putting on the finishing touches to a live CD due out by March 2007. Thomas Portera: Vocals, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar Jimmy Cyr: Vocals, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar, Banjo Al Natale: Vocals, Bass Guitar Jeff Conlon: Vocals, Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Bagpipes Michael Ryan: Drums, Percussion, Bodhran.
