Charles Wilson follows up his BMA nominated Delmark album "If Heartaches Were Nickels with Troubled Child" his first release on Severn. Horn and String arrangements by Willie Henderson (Tyrone Davis and Jackie Wilson) the album weaves between tunes such as the Sam Dees penned title track, Bobby Bland's "Where My Baby Went", the late Little Milton (Charles' uncle) and Denise LaSalle's "Somebody's Tears", the Oakland based Natural Four's "It's Love that Really Counts", Bob Marley's "Is This Love" and two originals written by bassist and co-producer Steve Gomes. "Monster" Mike Welch provides stellar guitar work and the Severn house band provides Charles with the canvas for his edgy, yet smooth, vocals.
