Wasis Diop - Toxu

He was introduced to most of the world from the placement of 'Everything (Is Never Quite Enough)' on the motion picture soundtrack of 'The Thomas Crown Affair'. His Africanized version of Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime" (titled here "Defaal Lu Wor") brings a fresh alternate perspective of the pop classic that even David Byrne is surely proud of. His voice sounds like Eddy Grant if he were from Africa. This is the Senegalese guitarist's second album originally released in 1998. Quite simply, this is just one of those records that you can't stop listening to... it's that good. A new listening adventure awaits with every track that plays.
