When we think of wellness, we often think about traditional approaches to health such as exercise and diet. However, there are a number of non-traditional approaches to wellness that have been proven to be equally as impactful. Meditation is an alternative health practice that combined with a good diet and exercise creates a holistic approach to wellness. Meditation combines both a mental and spiritual component to wellness to help find balance, create greater awareness or mindfulness, rejuvenate and de-stress. Meditation falls into a category that I call energy healing. I think of energy healing in this way. The world is constantly rotating, spinning and shifting. As an integral part of the world and to mirror it's action, we as individuals should be actively participating by taking action as well. Even before we are born, we are in movement. Our cells are dividing and individualizing. Mothers start to feel the movement of "butterflies" and then distinctive kicks long before the actual birth takes place. As we grow, we discover a whole world that beckons us to explore. At first it's physical exploration; touching, tasting, hearing, seeing and feeling. Before long, we are able to reason and make decisions. We are in constant motion, not only on the physical plane, but on the mental plane as well. Everything is in motion, including our thoughts. As we learn to apply action to our thoughts, we create manifestations. This can happen consciously or unconsciously. Unconscious action many times brings about unwanted manifestations. Consciously focusing our thoughts brings our world into alignment with what we manifest. Active participation is the key. Even meditation is action. To many it may seem as if meditation is non-action. However, it's intention is focused attention. Inactivity creates drag on the universe and it seems like our life becomes murky and slow moving. It's almost like sticking your foot out on an old fashioned merry-go-round. For me energy healing is working with that unseen force that is all around us, that is part of us, that is what we have inherited from the Divine. By using these guided meditations and affirmations, you are taking action to know your inner self, to discover the 'way' and the power within you while becoming more positive, energized and focused.
