Carrying on a tradition best exemplified by "The Roots," Theoretics is a true Hip Hop 'band'. They build their songs from the ground up with each musician contributing from their eclectic backgrounds outside of Hip Hop. Their self-titled debut album features thirteen original songs, including four instrumentals. The album showcases the groups' skill at creating exciting, neck-breaking material, with a sound both new and known, and a positive message delivered in an uncompromising style. On this album, Vocalist/MCs Mark Hoy and Chimaroke Abuachi flaunt their trademark high standard of lyrical content and flow, and perform with a chemistry and charisma rivaling that of Hip Hop's best front men. Drums for "Theoretics" were recorded at three Seattle different studios (The Office, Avast, Nels Nelson) to collect a variety of drum sounds. All other instrumental and vocal tracks were recorded in Seattle WA by Birch Pereira and Ben Krulewitch. The album was mixed by Don Gunn (The Office), and Birch Pereira. "Theoretics" was mastered by John McCaig (Panic Studios).
