The Underground is a Dying Breed doesn't just reflect a musical evolution for Hot Rod Circuit: Having parted with old managers, producers and record labels (Triple Crown and Vagrant, respectively) for the new album, Jackson, pedal steel/guitarist Casey Prestwood, bassist Joe Ballaro and drummer Dan Duggins are back to working on their own terms. Which, as Jackson understands, is a little ironic: With Immortal Records' track record working in it's favor, the Underground is a Dying Breed could be the album that launches Hot Rod Circuit out of the underground for good.
