Alva Copeland was born in raised in Detroit and now resides in California. She is a singer and song writer, with musical roots in jazz, r&b, gospel and most certainly old school Motown. Her vocal style has hints of everyone from Chaka Khan to Aretha Franklin. She has written songs for other projects, including 'THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE' which accompanied the best selling book of the same name, written by her pastor, Rick Warren, of Saddleback Church. The song,'Reach One More', has just been recorded in Spanish, by Grammy nominated artist, Pati Cabrera.Alva is a featured background vocalist on many projects, but her first solo release,'The Sweetest Praise', truly reveal her musical influences as well as the depths of her heart. It also features some incredible musicians. Her second and latest release, 'Always There' features songs Alva wrote following the tragic death of her father. It was a collaboration with producer and arranger, Mike Pelzman. Mike did and amazing job with the arrangements and orchestrations,as well as production.
