Loveninjas started with a strict concept - playing in ninja-masks, a giant heart costume and writing lyrics about sex, Japanese girls and ninjas (mostly all at once). The whole thing ended abruptly when they forgot their heart costume in Stuttgart after a gig this spring. After that they put their masks aside and wrote their best songs ever. Those songs are the secret of the Loveninjas. Loveninjas has changed the focus of their songs from Japan to the suburbs of Stockholm where they dance their legs down to their knees, turn their back on Everyday boredom and dream of a different life. The secret of the Loveninjas is the finest dancey pop of this year. It's Shop Assistants, Pulp and Chris Montez's A&M years through a soft discofiler Tor Helmstein secretly started Loveninjas back in 2004 when he was in another band. He needed a band to call his own as the one he was already in was artificial, stupid and played pretty lousy music. After having kept Loveninjas a secret for a year, fooling both the band and himself, he decided to quit in 2005 and do Loveninjas wholeheartedly.
