Phon - Orm

Phon is a two-piece improvised drone band from Raleigh, NC. The duo layers guitars, field recordings, and electronics for dense sound with melodic touches. The Orm was created in October 2005 at Soma Electronic Music Studios in Chicago. For four days the band worked, lived, ate, and drank with recording engineer Tim Iseler, whose duties included live studio manipulation, percussion, arrangement, and general knob fuckery. The three worked as a team, blurring the lines between engineer and musicians, and the resulting album shows a cohesive, unified vision that reflects that bond. Digipak.
