The legendary Mel Torme, an impressive arranger and songwriter, in addition to being an enthusiastic drummer, has long been one of jazz's top singers. During the tow decades before he debuted on Concord in 1983, he was rarely given the opportunity to record the swing-oriented music that he loves. One of the very few singers t steadily improve and grow in strength while in their sixties, Torme's Concord years found him at the absolute peak of his powers.
