Earl's Verve debut was produced by the legendary Tom Dowd, whose credits include John Coltrane, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Cream, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Thelonious Monk, the Allman Bros. Band and more. The Colour of Love highlights Earl's unique blend of blues and jazz ("'Round Midnight") and features the saxophone of Hank Crawford, plus Gregg Allman's distinctive vocals on one track.
