Honey Wars is indie-rock built on solid foundations. For more than two years, five friends have been mining gems in their basement quarry. Honey Wars is music for music's sake - American rock in the finest tradition. Recently, Honey Wars recorded a five song EP entitled "The City Made Me Do It". Produced and engineered by Kris Krummett at Interlace Audio (Drop Dead Gorgeous, Kaddisfly, Fear Before the March of Flames), the band was finally able to achieve the fidelity they were looking for. The melodies are fresh, inventive, and infectious. Each member of Honey Wars brings with them a wealth of experience and influence. Veterans of the Portland music scene, they all share a common love for the craft. They have a repertoire of over twenty songs and an excellent response from local performances. Some influences and comparisons might include: Tom Petty, Camper Van Beethoven, old Flaming Lips, R.E.M., Rocket From the Crypt, Wilco, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Jane's Addiction, Guided by Voices, etc... But, really, Honey Wars sounds like Honey Wars - taking a refreshing approach to rock music.
