This historical document offers a chronology of events that took place on what was perhaps Charlie Parker's most famous and puzzling session for Savoy, Nove, 26 1945. Paker's first session as a leader for Savoy was scheduled to include Bud Powell on piano, Miles Davis on trumpet, Curly Russell on bass and Mex Roach on drums but when Powell bailed at the last minute Dizzy Gillespie was recruited to fill in on piano, alternating on some tracks with Argonne Thornton (later known as Saik Hakim). Amazing album a must have for serious jazz fans.
