Formed in 1969, Los Van Van have recorded over 15 albums and still perform with 7 of the original members of the group. A good part of the band's success can be attributed to veteran instrumentalist/composer/arranger and bandleader, Juan Formell. Milan carefully selected the songs on this album with the intention of presenting this composer's very personal style. Also apparent in this collection is the orchestra's sound, which is both traditional and experimental, capturing the essence and the soul of Cuban music.
