Elias Olivo - Sueo Del Alma Dreams of the Soul

Elias Olivo is a very talented singer/songwriter from the Dominican Republic. He began singing and writing songs as a young man growing up in Moca, Dominican Republic and sang with many Merengue and Bolero groups around his hometown and the San Francisco De Macoris area. In Sueño Del Alma, Elias sings about the people in the village where he grew up. It is very romantic, but at the same time it is very comical and heart warming. Elias likes to poke fun at his friends but in a humble and playful way, but he also expresses his love for his friends and family. He mixes many Caribbean Latin-American styles including Merengue, Slow Merengue (referred to as Cumbia-rengue since it mixes the styles of Cumbia and Merengue), Salsa, Boleros, Ballads and a style all of his own called a Merengrock which is a Merengue with a Rock beat (almost like a New Orleans feel). The mixture allows for a mixture of emotions as each song tells a different story.
