Born in 1928, this NYC native began writing song parodies for parties as a student at Harvard (which he entered at age 15). After cutting 3 hugely popular LPs (and a few additional sides), Lehrer retired from showbiz in the mid-'60's. With more than an hour's worth of irreverent (and still timely) musical satire, this album contains 28 very hard-to-find tracks including Tom's ultra-rare 1953 debut album, Songs By Tom Lehrer (the biggest selling humorous music album of the '50's), plus a new 1996 recording of "I Got It from Agnes," only available here.
