Since the late 80s, National Public Radio (epiphany) has frequently commissioned Loudon b Wainwright III to write songs about the myriad of scandals, political figures and social and cultural phenomena that have been a consistent part of the media spin-cycle over the past decade. His latest recordings, Social Studies, compiles these musical harangues, broadsides, laments and parodies, many of which have garnered airplay on Morning Edition, Weekend Edition and All Things Considered. The first single from Social Studies is "Y2K" an ingeniously clever take on the impending computer crisis associated with the millennium.
