Teaming Davis with musical arranger Gil Evans, and recorded at Columbia Records' New York studios between March 1959 and March 1960, Sketches of Spain has been described as the most accessible album of his career, and includes such musical gems as the traditional Concierto de Aranjuez and Will 'o the Wisp, from a Spanish ballet.
