' Save The Earth ' was recorded at Russ Reter's studio in Phoenix, Arizona and is the follow up to Mike Lennon's 2003 PRP release ' Too Many Psychos ' . ' Save The Earth ' features 12 songs 9 new songs by Mike plus three songs from the Psychobillies written by Mike and Marc West. The title track 'Save The Earth' is a psycho prayer for peace and eco-sense, more valid now than when it was written in 1990 . 'Save The Earth','Rock! Rock From The Planet Doc' and 'Psycho Baby' are from The Psychobillies days and all three mesh perfectly with the new songs Mike wrote for this album . Traces of the Byrds mid period Beatles and Beach Boys can be found as well as tinges of country rock and mid 60's soul . All lead and harmony vocals for this album are by Mike as well as guitar bass and keyboards. Russ plays lead guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboards and drums . Three songs from Save The Earth have been big hits on internet radio - ' Now I'm Free ', 'C'mon, C'mon, C'mon' and 'Suzie Sez' Save The Earth is by far Mike's most downloaded song. The album also received a favorable responce in the music media. Here a great review from Alan Haber host of Pure Pop radio show on WEBR Fairfax Va.and publisher of the pop culture web site ' buhdge ' . ' The CD gets off to a great start with 'Rock!Rock! From The Planet Doc' setting the Ramones and the Runaways on their ears. That there's a bit of Dick Dale and spaghetti western in there along with some good old fashioned rock 'n' roll lead guitar courtesy of ELO's version of Roll Over Beethoven is a very good thing . Just Wonderful ! ' C'mon C'mom C'mon is a fun rocker with great harmonies, a little boogie and a whole lot of spirit mixed in . The title song is of course, most timely and danceable by bonus and very catchy to boot . The rest of the album is as good or better ; it's hard to peg a favorite, but I love the Carl Perkins vibe of 'I'm Missing You' (more great harmonies and a wonderful melody . ' Suzie Sez ' is another cool number, with a top notch beat and cool vocals .The closer,'I'm Alone' a bit differant yet of a piece with the rest of the album, adds a little jangle to the proceedings and comes up a winner ! (Love the solo by the way) .Great stuff all around. 'I'm so glad I found this album' ! Jan.31,2006 Michael Lopez says ' Save The Earth ' is straight up Arizona alt-country . ' Rock Rock From The Planet Doc ' is a playful number that showcases just what Mike Lennon does best ! Phoenix, New Times April 2 2010 Mike Lennon was born in Brooklyn New York on July 15 1961.Mike started playing professionally in 1982 and began playing in Greenwich Village in 1985 . In 1987 he formed the Psychobillies with Marc West bass, Doc Hi Life guitar, and Vince Hancock Drums. The Psychobillies played the NY-NJ area and recorded often including an unreleased album for Sun records before disbanding in 1991 . In 1992 Mike moved to Arizona and since 1996 has been playing at the Rusty Spur Saloon in Old Town Scottsdale as a solo and bassist with the Psychobilly Rodeo Band.
