This exciting album marks pianist Hector Martignon's Candid debut. Born in Colombia, Hector is a graduate of the Charlie Sepulveda band. He made a significant impact whilst with the Ray Baretto band, where he was also Musical Director and was responsible for many of the hits. Fellow Colombian Jairo Moreno on bass and master percussionist Satoshi Takeishi make up the Martignon trio heard here to great effect. Add star guests Romero Lubambo, Manolo Badrena, Donny McCaslin, star vocalist Gabriela Anders and others to the melting pot and you have an outstanding portrayal of the dynamic New York Latin Jazz scene.
