2004 album from Robin Proper-Sheppard, formerly of the God Machine. This, his stunning debut for City Slang may be the first record that he has released through another label in ten years, but he has at no point relinquished control of his music. Recorded and produced without any outside influences or intervention and then licensed to City Slang, it sees the sound of Sophia develop significantly from the introverted and almost country-tinged sounds of the first two studio albums, blossoming into a far more broad-shouldered beast, one that carries far more weight and even more intensity. It may at first be a shock to hear the band lean back towards the sound of his previous band, the God Machine, but it merely reflects the way that the band have grown whilst performing live. Enhanced CD features 10 tracks & includes screensaver & lyrics. Digipak. City Slang/Labels.
