Dear dog lovers....who would look at their dog and say to it, 'You shouldn't be the dog that you are...you should be some other type of dog!' ??? No one would EVER say that to a dog but we say that kind of crap to ourselves all the time....'I should be more outgoing....I shouldn't be so sensitve....I should be more fun....I shouldn't be so sad all the time....What the hell???? This album and the title song is all about accepting that we are the breed of dog that we are( FROM BIRTH) and we must learn to embrace and honor that individual type of dog....For myself, I have always resisted that I'm a terrier at heart because I didn't want to be like my mom who is an Italian and as much a terrier as any terrier that ever lived! She will bite your ankle if you don't pay attention to her and maybe ever pee on you if you continue to ignore her! But all terriers are not biters! They can be cute and energetic and they love to play! They get things done like chasing a ball or digging a hole! They can be very people oriented and extremely devoted. After many difficult years, I have finally learned to embrace my inner terrier to the point that I now have as my constant companion a Silkie terrier named Priscilla who I absolutely adore! Priscilla has the sweetest, most outgoing personality of any dog I've ever seen and she loves to snuggle, sleeping next to me every single night. What could be better than that and what's even better is that I've come to realize that that is the kind of terrier that I am! Sooooooo, figure out what breed of dog you are (maybe you are a mixed breed as most of us are) and truly come to terms with the bashing you have done about your basic temperment. You are wonderful just as the breed you are! Who would want this world to be inhabited by one single breed?? That'd be terribly boring. It's all the different breeds in this world that make it interesting. Love the breed that you are! Woof!!
