A five piece improv 'noise orchestra' composed of massively distorted guitars, digital and analog synthesizers, feed-back drum induced bass tones, live-triggered samples, gut-wrenching vocals, found objects and live percussion, Party Killer has produced an outstanding visceral recording that feels remarkably physical. Devoid of noodling and jamming (words banned in their studio) these masters of chaos and controlled demolition avoid the tepid cliches of improvisational music, train-wrecking any evidence of navel gazing sentiment with hurricane force distortion. A full spectrum assault, Party Killer is unquestionably overdriven and often absurdly loud but the subterfuge of their art is interlaced with a complex degree of structure and melodic phrasing catchy enough to produce a craving for repeated listenings.
