Trinity Dogs' style is an eclectic blend of folk, rock, county and blues, often infused with harmonies and usually interpreted with acoustic guitar, mandolin, drums and bass. But that's sometimes broken up by an occasional electric guitar or accented with a mournful harmonica. Listeners might detect influences ranging from REM and The Grateful Dead to Natalie Merchant, Richard Thompson and Soul Asylum. Fans have described the group as a power mandolin quartet, an effort to convey it's rocking acoustic style. Or as an art band, an allusion to it's offbeat arrangements of dark and imaginative songs. The four members of Trinity Dogs have been playing together in bars, art festivals and showcase gigs in Fort Worth, Dallas and Austin for the past four years. A studio album and the evolution of their music from it's folk-rock roots has led to more serious direction as the group focuses on songs written and arranged by all four members.
