Johnny & the Nightcrawlers - Off the Hook

Johnny and the Nightcrawlers is a Texas bar band established in 1993 by long time friends and musical buddies, John Simmons on harp, guitar, pedal steel, dobro and vocal and Don Elbert on Keyboards. John and Don have played together for 20 yrs. In various bands. John's friend Joe Griffin, the drummer, joined the band in 2002. John has played harmoinca for Ray Wiley Hubbard and many lesser known Texas bands, Joe and John have been friends since 4th grade and were happy to be reunited. Joe has played with many of the Houston blues legends such as Texas Johnny Brown, the late Jerry Lightfoot, Pete Mays, and Joe 'Guitar' Hughes. This recording started out as simply a demo for booking and was recorded live on one Saturday. After listening to the quality we decided to add a few overdubs and tweek it a little to produce a professional quality recording. I think you will find it has a live feel and drive and great listening qualities. Most of my friends keep their copies in their vehicles and like to listen to it 'on the road'.
