Gigi & Pop - Odyssey Two

Gigi & Pop's third album features the many talents of Anita Cookie! On an array of instruments and toys (and tap shoes!) she adds humor and wild fun to another collection of catchy tunes by indie pop's Best Dressed Duo! Bassist Ken Zwerin continues to add his talent and style to complete their sound. The fifteen tracks on ODYSSEY TWO range from rambunctious acoustic songs such as 'Porcupines are Prickly' and 'Both Feet on the Brake' that hint folk and bluegrass influence, to electronic dance grooves in songs like 'Beware the Company' and the pop hooks of 'Summer Sun.' Gigi & Pop still throw plenty of sweetness in the mix, including a John Hughes tribute in their cover of the Thompson Twins' 'If You Were Here' and other original dreamy tunes both acoustic and electric. ODYSSEY TWO also features a live radio appearance in which they demonstrate their energy and tongue-in-cheek playfulness as they pay homage to the great Spike Jones in their cover of 'Cocktails for Two.' Throwing sound-effects and lyrics back and forth, you can hear why they enjoy performing in a variety of settings from cabaret/burlesque events to live music venues.
