"I'm consistently torn between what I feel and what is possible to express. I don't know if everyone feels the need to communicate it the way I do, but I have a theory that everyone has a constant dialogue between their heart and mind. And if a person were to really take time to listen to that, it might feel like it could swallow them whole. Maybe the reason I can't stop trying to communicate what can't be communicated is because I can't leave those people out to dry. Or because it hurts me to think that some people never get past surface talk, or surface thinking, or surface emotions. And maybe if I could express the crazy side of me, people would see that they aren't alone. So far, music is the closest I've gotten. I love it's honesty. I love that I can be honest about my imperfections with my music. I love that I can create something so much bigger than myself - so big that it won't fit inside of the space between my heart and mind. The dialogue must spill out. More often than not it takes the form of a song - a nugget of honesty in a world that is so in need of the truth." - Lindsey Saunders.
