Scroll down for an inside scoop on the writing of each song! June 2 02 - (note of appreciation from Huntsville Unity friend and fan) 'Dear Elicia, I've been listening to the album. Words don't mean much spoken about such a wonder. Where did it come from, all that Beauty & Love? I know, I know- from the source of all Love, from what I now call God/ Goddess. That's the Truth. Love all ways, always, Wayne' Bio information: I grew up south of Mandan, North Dakota the 9th child out of 10 (good catholic family). My parents farmed and still do at age 65-70. Always enjoying music, I began playing guitar around age 10 as my older brother played and taught me. That led me to accompany and sing at church services at a young age and through adolescence. During adolescence I found comfort in writing my own music and lyrics and continue through today writing on either guitar or piano (I began piano in college). I took 4 years at University of Mary Bismarck, ND and gained a Biology degree. After college I worked briefly at an Agriculture research station as lab technician, but long enough to meet my now husband Monte Faul. With his encouragement, I spent 10 months living in Seattle working in the ER as an ER Tech. All this while, I frequented many open mics and wrote music and ignored people's encouragement to record. Meanwhile Monte took a job opportunity in Huntsville, AL. I then moved to be closer and worked as a Cardiac Tech in the Cath Lab. We married in April 2001 and moved back to Seattle. After five long years of the medical program of Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture at Bastyr University I have finished with a masters degree in acupuncture and headed back to our home state of North Dakota. I am busy with our beautiful daughter born in october 2004 Magdeline Pauline and starting a practice of acupuncture and massage. Recording Information The CD is the realization of a dream and and has led to so much growth and healing in my life and those who have shared in the process. With much encouragement I made a jumping off the cliff decision in the spring of 2002 to quit my full time job and record a CD. I have had the most challenging and growing experiences since then. Shawn Thomas (Shawn Thomas studios and Aaron's Rainbow Project publishing ) did an excellent digital recording of 12 songs adding MIDI drums and bass to some, also back-up vocals and Dale Worley's piano talent. The decision has paid off in a greater awareness of who I am as co-creator with God. The music and recording reflect my spiritual journey of my early writing career and sharing this music with others has blessed many lives. Thank you again Unity members of Huntsville, AL for your support and encouragement. Everyone else involved via recording or musical talent or spiritual crisis prevention. Through these experiences we have built ever-lasting friendships. I wish all the peace and joy you may ever find be found with you this moment. Background information on each song In the Breaking of A New Day - pep up your day song written at 5:30 AM on my way to that job I quit. (tough choice huh?) Just A vessel I was wanting to remind myself of this truth that I am not the source of all this music, it is something larger working through me. What better way to do that than write a song about it that will stick in your head... forever? Soul's Desire This song was written over five years ago, but I always vowed to put it on any recording I would do. It had a very powerful impact on me at the time. It really reflects a genuine cry out and surrender to God and sense of loneliness most of us feel in this world. In My Maker - gotta love this drum beat. I knew something on the CD was gonna come out alittle Jamaican! Lord Litany - My sisters favorite. 1st one to be recorded took the longest to record. I Am - Inspired by Moses I see each of us experiencing God though living our lives and God always there as near as the breath we breathe. This song has been considered a favorite by many who have the CD. It's funny. I myself didn't like this song much as I first wrote it, but the first time I performed it I had chills and knew then what I meant to convey and the comfort it was giving to those listening. Only Grace - 1st piano written song written in the piano lab of UAH college. Very moving God speaking though me to say I am bigger than your defenses you've made against me. I am in your humility. I am more than your vanity. Find me through living only grace. Seek Ye First - Based on a few pages from Matthew where God talks about the Kingdom of Heaven. I believe he meant it is here, a state of mind not a place, and in each of us. Wet Paint - As Monte and I did the cross country relationship he sent me this email with the comment line 'Wet Paint' well I kept that name and made it into this song. The Creators - I love praise/worship sing along type songs I wrote this specifically for sharing with the group at Unity. Before I ever performed it I dreamed of having everyone keep up 'One with you' as I ad lib and it gives me goose bumps to let that happen. Not So Far Away - A tear jerking song. A song I cried in writing. I asked for a song titled 'Not So far Away' cause that's what I wanted to title the CD. So much God just placed in my lap with this song. Especially the lyrics... 'Take a deep breath and a good look into the dark/ see embers glowing of a growing willing heart/ and with hope bubbling through this veneer of recklessness/ I know my God you are not through with me yet.' Actually runs over 5 minutes but I couldn't decide on a single line I would cut from it. We made a beautiful duet by accident in recording. I 'messed- up' the timing on one track but put together became the back-up. It's in each of us the knowing and comfort that no matter what this God force is 'not so far away'. I Do Just wanting something to share with my husband on that special day I wrote this right before our wedding. At the last minute by popular demand I decided to add it to the CD as a bonus track.
