Through the combined songwriting talents of Robert Wintour and Jarl Sonkin, and the group's overall musical inventiveness, The Queues present a vision for the rock soundscape not unlike that of their predecessors. Nevertheless, the band's debut record has a sound that is bold enough to reach beyond the sum of the band's influences. Noisemaker was recorded in sections over a period of two years, enduring several failed sessions in various recording environments until it was finally completed at Urthwurk Labs. Despite the long gaps in the album's production, there is a linear cohesiveness in the songs that reflects the band's experiences and philosophy. It's fifteen tracks offer a variety of musical palettes ranging from ebullient and sugary pop to heavier rock and more experimental songs that defy traditional electric blues arrangements. Although a few songs are deceptively simple upon first listen, each track is an earnest attempt to return quality to the craft of songwriting and rock n' roll as a whole.
