Produced by the legendary Frank Pappalardo (Soundstage engineer for Beach Boys, Tom Petty, and many others), The Ginge (pronounced 'Jinj', short for Ginger) steps up huge on it's third CD Never Go Easy. Each track is a different trip through the American experience and personal progression. Relationships to self doubt to picking yourself up to late night out on the town, all intertwined into a numbert of genres and moods that at the end, leave the listener affirmed and uplifted. This Chicago-based foursome has been together for over a decade and it shows - the music and topics are mature and varied, the impact is visceral, with music full of hooks and intimate moments. Following up on 2007's accliamed 'Continental Anyone?', Never Go Easy delivers smoother production, tone and feel, but all the energy and more of a group that knows what it wants, knows how to deliver a message and knows what it's audience is pining for. Never Go Easy album delivers a varied palette of sonic goodness. Like the Chicago weather, wait a song and the skies will change; each listener finds a different track that is their favorite. It's very hard to pick just one single off this CD - from the in your face rock angst of 'Chaperone' to the road trip worthy 'Route 48' to the new wave influenced 'Let It All Out', each track delivers a slice of America couched in a groove that could only be delivered by a truely American Band. This one is rich from start to finish, but try a few tracks and see what you think. Soak it in, spread it around and enjoy!
