This San Fran-based rock band followed the indie-rock work ethic to the letter: they formed in high school, released 2 albums by themselves, booked their own national tour and made so much noise they eventually got singed (oh yeah, they're also the band from director Ron Howard's film, EdTV). The band's Cherry/Universal debut album is loaded with 3-to-4-minute harmony-laden pop-rock songs co-produced by ex-Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison (Live, the Verve Pipe). 1st single: "Little Black Backpack."
