The 3rd amazing album, creatively, it takes moves away from the archetypal sounds of their first 2 releases (Beatles, Badfinger, Big Star), although some songs would fit perfectly on either of those records. But the sonic blast of Mott the Hoople make a workout here and plenty of beautiful, soulful pop songs spring forth, as well. The most mature and rewarding release of the band yet. And that is saying something pretty powerful. Not Lame Recordings.
