Bassist/composer Ben Wolfe is a young, renegade jazz musician reared in Portland, Oregon. By his early twenties, he was freelancing regularly in the Portland area, and then moved to NYC where he worked with musical luminaries such as Junior Cook, Jimmy Cobb, Dakota Staton & the Mel Lewis Orch. By 1988, he landed a gig with Harry Connick Jr.. & went on to the Wynton Marsalis Septet among others. Here, he presents his debut, combining his love of composing, arranging & writing in the film-scoring arena. He mixes instruments & musicians to create different moods & emotions on original compositions.
