Fans of well-produced power-pop should appreciate 'Mix Tape', the full-band effort from NYC-based singer-songwriter John Brodeur and his band, the Suggestions. The Suggestions were born when Brodeur teamed with guitarist-bassist Keith Hosmer and drummer Jason Schultz to back songs from his debut solo disc, 'Tiger Pop.' These four new original songs (plus a moody cover of George Harrison's 'Art of Dying' and a revamped version of 'Changing Your Mind') display a polished, road-ready rock & roll outfit. Songs like 'Be True' and 'Birthday Girl' got a bit of specialty radio action in early 2003, and 'Mix Tape' broke the top 150 on CMJ. As the album received a warm round of applause from the media, the Suggestions toured the U.S. with bands like Fountains of Wayne, Vertical Horizon and O.A.R.
