Constant Season came to life in the cold winter months of 2006 when the Calgary five-piece comprising of Cory Klapper, Michael Ferraro, Graeme Simari, Lucas Klapper and Kristian Shepetys began playing music together in Cory's basement. Since then Constant Season has taken over the local scene. Filling up clubs and selling out pubs. Turning even the coldest audiences into encore-shouters. This band understands the importance of tailoring each performance to each venue. Cory Klapper is a multi-dimensional musician with backgrounds in Guitar, Drums, and Piano. After high school, he started his post secondary school career at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. While there, he specialized in sound engineering and music production. He has also worked in television post production since being home. He currently attends the University of Calgary with aspirations of continuing on to film school, and of course with his band. Graeme Simari is a classically-trained musician who has been playing piano since he was five years old. After going through the levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music, he turned to the art of blues and jazz; a less structured, free style of play. It was this time where the creative writing started to develop. Today he writes and/or arranges music for Constant Season. He is currently in pursuit of finishing a bachelor degree in Marketing. Kit Shepetys was born in Calgary, Alberta and has been involved with music and sports throughout his whole life. Growing up, Kit was an avid soccer player in Calgary, representing some of the top players in Alberta and even on the national level. When he was 18, Kit traveled to England for a tryout with Nottingham Forest and after weeks of training with the reserve team, Kit got the chance to play in his first game. Unfortunately, it ended in disaster when he was awkwardly tackled, severing every ligament in his ankle and forcing him to return home to Calgary. Although this chapter closed in his life, it gave him the opportunity to start a new one and begin focusing on music. Kit has played the piano and guitar for the better part of his life; starting to play piano at the age of five and picking up the guitar at twelve. Most recently, he has taken over the role of bass guitar in Constant Season. Kit is currently attending the University of Calgary with hopes of pursuing his music career with Constant Season. Mike Ferraro was introduced to music at an early age. At 5, he began piano lessons. After a few years away from structured music lessons, he began to teach himself the guitar, which then led to 8 years of formal lessons. At 14, he was encouraged by a friend, who would eventually become his main musical inspiration, to accompany her in recitles. This led to duets the two would perform in showcases for youth singers in Calgary, and eventually into songwriting. As years went by, and different bands came and went, he has continued to find his voice, until a perfect fit was found in Constant Season. Four different, but essential contrasting musical styles continue to encourage, and help discover Mike's voice; the voice of Constant Season. Lucas Klapper, older sibling of Cory Klapper, has been a keen observer of different music styles his entire life. As a percussionist, formal drum-lessons have only been a fraction of the time he has played throughout the years. Designing and manipulating beats are what keep his band's music so different from the rest. Recently dubbed 'best skin hitter I've ever heard' by drumming engineer extraordinaire Endre Lukascy, Klapper is is a welder by trade and is a hero among his band mates for having to sometimes play the late shows and then going straight to work in the early hours of the morning. Constant Season Demo: (2007-2008) This record was recorded in Cory Klapper's basement and still left the band CD-less after every show. All original songs. 'Star and the Lover' was #2 in a local radio station's top Calgary songs in 2008. A foreshadow of the capabilities of this band given a true production facility. Live from Center Street: (2008-2009) The bands first live-to-air record played on a local radio station's studio. The record includes acoustic renderings of the band's own music plus a custom-arranged Beatles classic 'In My Life' cover. Midnight Lines EP (2009-) Constant Season's newest record was recorded at Endre Lukascy's Night Deposit Studios Inc. In Calgary, Alberta. It is a four track plus one demo that will be released independently in early Apr 2009. Constant Season draws it's musical style from Led Zepplin to the Pet Shop Boys; from The Rolling Stones to The Fray; from Bob Dylan to Daft Punk. Really. Although the style, dynamics, intensity, arrangements and vivid lyrics are different from what one has heard before, there always is a comfort that overcomes despite the complicated beats or the sharply cut synths.
