Jim Gibson learned the craft of playing the piano for people through thousands of gigs of every sort, mostly in the Atlanta, GA area. From his years of experience behind all kinds of keyboards, in all kinds of groups, Jim has developed a smoothly blended style that easily mixes different musical approaches. You'll hear a bit of classical music from his years of piano lessons....and you'll hear new-age influences in the overall quietness of these tunes. But, mostly you'll hear spontaneous versions, with hints of jazz here and there, of well-known songs that you can listen to again and again. Jim uses both his own extensive experience, and careful research, when deciding what songs to record. 'I like to find a song that has lasted for years, that may have even been popular several different times. When I find a song like that, I know it has something special, and I want to record it.' In this tribute to 'The Greatest Generation,' Jim has collected sixteen wonderful songs that helped shape the way Americans felt during (and after) the tumultous years around World War II. These are important songs, and they are wonderfully played.
