Formed in January 2011, Killbillies are Ben Childs, Micah Scott, Zak Mahoney and Virgil Price. Based in West Palm Beach, South Florida, they are all international touring veterens who have come together through a shared love of rowdy, rootsy music that speaks to the soul and has something to say. Playing banjo, mandolin, guitars, upright bass, saxophone, accordion and a foot percussion rhythm section, they draw on their knowledge of Celtic folk, Bluegrass, Punk rock and Country to create their Pogues meets Mumford and Sons dirt grass sound. With a wealth of traditional & original material, KillBillies will play for hours if left to their own devices. Playing Irish bars to rock clubs, street corners to festivals, KillBillies get the party started. Ben is from England, Micah from upstate New York, Zak from Pennsylvania and Virgil from Florida. This album is a description of their life experiences as transplants in a new, exciting and sometimes disturbing place. Songs include discussions on struggles with love, local politics and their relationship with their environment. Heartfelt and sincere, this album is a snapshot of four peoples lives as they live it.
