Out of print in the U.S. in 1971, Paul McCartney commissioned arranger and conductor Richard Hewson to create an instrumental version of his then-recent Ram album. Instead of just a straight reading of the album, the recordings became an exciting aural feast of Easy Listening clichés that incorporated elements of Soft Rock, Big Band Swing and Jazz. The resulting recordings, which were produced by McCartney himself, sat on the shelf for six years before being released very quietly in 1977 without any fanfare. McCartney used the pseudonym Percy Thrillington so only the faithful fans knew of it's existence. Once the public caught on, the album had already been deleted. This digitally remastered CD was initially released in the U.S. and worldwide in 1995 but has been deleted in most countries for nearly a decade. EMI.
