Venezuelan-born pianist, Gabriela Montero, releases her first recording exclusively devoted to works by Latin American composers, SOLATINO. As with her previous, hugely successful EMI Classics releases, Bach and Beyond and Baroque, on SOLATINO, Montero turns her genius for improvisation to music by Latin American composers including Ginastera, Lecuona and Estivez. This joyous, bright album is packed with tangos, milongas, and swinging dance rhythms! This release aims to bring this fun, infectious music to a wide audience, and to introduce new audiences to a different genre of classical music.
